I'm afraid I've had rather a full plate lately, which explains my neglect of this blog and general absence from the Blogosphere. Alas, I've neither had sufficient time to dedicate to writing posts, or doing the rounds of my favorite blogs.
Rest assured though, I shall be back, and normal service will resume whenever things ease up a little around these parts. In the meantime, I wish you all, my loyal readers and followers, a very Happy Easter and all the joy that unfurls during this season of renewal.
How will you be celebrating today?
Hello CD, I've missed your posts lately. I can see that you are having a traditional Easter, and I hope that it is a good holiday for you and your family. Of course in Taiwan Easter is not a big deal, but I remember many times in Ohio that I spotted the first rabbit of the year hopping around on Easter Sunday.

Hello Jim,
DeleteThe vision of bunnies hopping about on Easter Sunday in Ohio is indeed a charming one.
Good Morning way out there!
ReplyDeleteI've missed you, and hoped you well and warm and out doing wonderful things. Life plans around US, it seems, more and more often lately.
It's finally SPRING here, though a little nippy in the early morning---yesterday's Easter Lunch upstairs in the sunny windows with doors open and all that GREEN swaying across the sheers---what a lovely time.
Just us few here in town, for our OH contingent are spending their holiday at a campground with several members of their church, and will come to us for a Spring Lunch next Saturday. I'd have loved to see the Sunrise Service out there in the great trees this morning.
We're all pastels here, with great carryings-out and castings-off of STUFF, dustings and lemonings and the re-appearance of floral pillows and chair scarves and a lovely moss-green cover for the big old burgundy sofa has brightened the living room-sitting room areas into a sweet, serene bower to soothe the days.
Two weeks of Spring Break with Sweetpea in the house has been great fun---we did the decorating and two separate dyeings of eggs, with lots of printing-out and coloring of fanciful eggs and scenes with every crayon, pastel, and colored marker in her three lunchbox/satchels of art stuff. We made strawberry cupcakes and a single 8" layer on Friday, for yesterday's lunch, by an "old" recipe which was quite popular with the Church Cookbooklet and Under-the-Hair-Dryer-recipe set of the 70s. You should have seen her pureeing frozen strawberries the old way, through a colander with an enormous ancient potato masher, as well as measuring ingredients with the finicky care of a Curie at work. They were absolutely sublime, and the old taste I remembered so fondly brought back wonderful memories of when my own children were still at home.
Caro's invited us up once again into that glorious sunshine, for a little brunch-for-three at one o'clock. I'm in charge of the Cheese Grits and fruit tray, and she's doing scrambled eggs, pop-it biscuits, and some of the leftover sliced ham from yesterday will go into her sizzly wok at the last minute to brosn just so.
We're in need of a quiet day, after all the illnesses and chaos of this new year. Hope all is really well with you and that all the things calling you from your usual calm and pursuits are resolved soon and happily.
Have a lovely day today!
rachel
Hello dearest racheld,
DeleteI enjoyed reading about the dizzying array of pursuits you've been undertaking in preparation for spring and Easter celebrations. I do hope you managed to get a little quiet time today between all the brunching and socializing. Oh, and how right you are, when you write "life plans around US".
Happy Easter to you and yours.
CD so great to see you! Happy Easter to you and your family, lovely to see you celebrating so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteBusy times... I understand. I've had a full plate these last weeks as well. I look forward to your posts when things settle down for you.
Today we'll be visiting my mother-in-law at her care home, she is doing very poorly so it will be a quiet visit. Then we're having dinner at my in-law's club ...it's especially lovely to see your green and white table! xo
Hello Dani, and a very Happy Easter to you and yours. So pleased you enjoyed the small glimpse of our table.
DeleteI hope your day went swimmingly what with a visit to your ailing mother-in-law and dinner later at the club.
I too look forward to resuming a more regular schedule of postings in the near future, thank you.

Happy belated Easter! Glad you are keeping well but will admit to almost worrying and about to drop you a line! But that's blogging habits for you. I feel if I don't blog after a few weeks I might quit altogether so I try and keep it up. Hope you are ready for proper Spring now and another celebration in May too?
